Choose one of the following
1. You are a policeman/woman. Write a report the night Rocky gets lost. Describe
a) What happened to Rocky
b) What he looks like
c) Where he might go


2. Design a 'Rocky is Lost' poster. You can draw Rocky or use a photo of another dog.
Your poster must contain this information:
a) when and where Rocky went missing
b) age, breed, distinctive physical features (e.g. white stripe across his nose etc.)
c) your contact details

Choose one of the following:
1. You are Becky. Write your diary entries for the time Rocky runs away.

Write entries for:
  • the night Rocky goes missing
  • a week later
  • the day the lady phones from San Dieg
  • the day Rocky is found in Texas.
  • the night you collect him

Now find someone who wrote Rocky's diary. Compare your diary with his.

2. You are Rocky! Write your diary entries for the time you run away.
Write entries for
  • the night you go missing
  • a week later
  • the day the lady finds you in San Diego. Describe your escape
  • when you are found in Texas.
  • when Becky collects you again.
  • 1. Becky reports that Rocky is missing to the police station. Work in pairs. One of you is Becky. The other is the a policeman/woman. The policeman/woman asks Becky question about Rocky.
  • 2. You are Rocky - giving a press conference! News reporters ask you questions about your incredible journey.
  • 3. Play Alibi. Two class members are suspects in the 'dognapping' of Rocky. They must try and prepare a story for what they were doing together the night he went missing. The rest of the class then asks questions to try and show they are lying.
